Stocks & Bonds/Appreciated Securities

Giving appreciated securities is an easy way to support our organization and may also provide you with the ability to give more than you thought possible.

Since the Aurora Historical Society is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 nonprofit, you avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of appreciated stock and receive a charitable income tax deduction.  Be sure not to sell the stocks or bonds prior to making the gift — we’ll take care of that part.

If you would like to make a gift of appreciated securities, please contact us for instructions to provide to your broker.
