2018 Tanner House Holidays Favorite Rooms

A big THANK YOU to all of the designers that made the Tanner House Holidays 2018 a wonderful and memorable experience for each and every visitor that walked the halls this season.

The Results are in — First Place in the Favorite Room contest at Tanner House Holidays-2018 is the Library, by Scott Sherwood and Bill Walsh. They used our beautiful Hartman-Hill dollhouse to depict Santa bringing gifts by spaceship, with tiny alien helpers. This fantasy, which they titled “Santa’s Secret Helpers” was inspired by the UFO and alien invasion craze of the 1950s.

First Place — Library

Second Place is the Small Upstairs Bedroom, by Debbie and Mike Philipchuck. Called “Christmas in Toyland”, the room, which we believe was always a bedroom for children of the Tanner family, was filled with toys ranging from antiques in our archives to items from their private collection.

Third Place goes to Kevin and Rachel Rose Bee and the Kitchen. They filled “A Very Sweet Christmas” with the smells of homemade gingerbread and dried citrus fruits and created a scale model of the Tanner House in gingerbread. Congratulations to them, and all the volunteers who put in innumerable hours decorating the house for 2018 and sharing it with visitors.
