Roald Haase was honored at the January meeting of the board for eight years of service, during which time he represented the board on the Collections Committee, which evaluates artifacts and other donations to the archives of the society, and served as an editor of the organization’s newsletter.  “People like Roald are how things get done in Aurora, and we thank him most sincerely for his thoughtful guidance on every aspect of our work” said Executive Director John Jaros.

New board member Scott Robowski

Scott Robowski was unanimously elected to serve a 3-year term.  He has taught chemistry at West Aurora High School since 1996 and has had numerous roles in the AEA-W, the teachers’ union.  “Scott is a museum-minded person, and someone who is deeply interested in history,” according to Mary Clark Ormond, president of the board.  “He’s been a friend of the AHS for a long time and we are eager to bring him in at a leadership level.”   He holds a bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan and a master’s from Eastern Illinois University.
