Without a doubt Ruth VanSickle Ford, 1897-1989, is Aurora’s best-known artist and arts educator, and the Aurora Historical Society will pay tribute to her on the occasion of her 125th birthday year.

Enjoy an evening with collectors and art aficionados and grow in your appreciation of this pioneering woman who, most unusually for a woman at the time, owned and operated the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. Her colorful and dynamic paintings, dozens of which will be on display, won her awards and admiration and she taught many aspiring artists both in Chicago and throughout the Fox Valley.
