Remembering Henry Pratt

The Henry Pratt may be gone now, moved to Kimball, Tennessee, but before closing the building, on Highland Avenue, the company donated this bench to the Historical Society.

The bench commemorates the five employees who were lost in the 2019 workplace shooting. It is temporarily located at the Tanner House Museum campus, in front of the Archives Building at 305 Cedar Street in Aurora (some consideration is being given to moving it to a downtown location). Next year, we again will mount a temporary display of the wooden crosses created by the late Greg Zanis, the Aurora carpenter who helped so many people nationwide in times of horrific loss. The cross display will be at the Pierce Center downtown in February 2023.
