Oct 31, 2023 | Press Release

Please join us in welcoming Nick Sargis and Kevin Bee to the Aurora Historical Society’s Board of Trustees. Sargis and Bee were unanimously elected to the board at a recent meeting.

Sargis has long been active in the area’s theatre community and is the Theatre Supervisor for the Fox Valley Park District and also Co-Director of Theatre at Marmion Academy. Passionate about history, you may spot him driving his Ford Model A. A Chicago native, Sargis is proud to call Aurora home having spent more than half his life as a resident and is a graduate of West Aurora.

Bee, a loyal society volunteer for several years, is the Operations Manager for Naperville School District 203. Guests of the Tanner Tours by Candlelight this October may recognize him as the “Gentleman of the Manor” and docent. He has served on numerous union and school district boards and committees in his previous role with the IEA-NEA as President of the Naperville Unit Maintenance Association. Bee enjoys supporting local businesses and local theatre. He lives in the Boulevard District with his wife, Ruby Sue, their two children, Fox and Samara, and two little dogs.

“We are thrilled to have these talented individuals who are passionate about Aurora and its history join our team of dedicated trustees,” said board president Greg Probst.

Each trustee is elected to an initial term of three years and serves without remuneration.
