So about that big hole… #FreemanMural

Many years ago when a drop ceiling was installed, the hidden part of the mural was ravaged to install practical things like an air duct and a whole lot of wiring. The exposed part was painted white.

Basically, the mural disappeared. Aurora art authority Mary Ann Signorelli tracked it down through research, Scott Sherwood restored it, and the two figures you see here (probably a Pilgrim and a native resident) are magically back again, created out of a big canvas patch and some very deft painting.

After a few more touch-ups the mural will be returned to the school for installation this spring.
