The Aurora Historical Society’s 2023 Sumer Exhibit Here Comes The Bride gives a glimpse into fashions of the past as worn by Aurora women from 1853 – 1976.
The gown seen here was worn by Martha Tanner in 1882 when she married Rev. Charles Thornton in the parlor of her parents’ house (now the Tanner House Museum).
The exhibit runs from June 2, 2023, through August 12, 2023. The exhibit is free to attend, however, donations are appreciated.
The Premier Sponsor for the exhibit is Wolsfelt’s Bridal.
Additional sponsors include Old Second National Bank and Reuland Food Service.
