Focus on children at new Tanner House Museum tours

Aug 17, 2019 | Activities, Special Events

Special tours geared for children 4-10 years old will be offered at the Tanner House Museum on Sunday, August 18 and Sunday, September 15 from 2:00-3:00 pm.

The tours will take the children into the Parlor, the Kitchen, the Dining Room and the Upstairs Sitting Room where there will be hands-on activities showcasing various aspects of child life in the late Victorian era,  as well as a special story told by Kenlyn Nash-Demeter, an Anna Tanner interpreter.

The tours are free, but donations are appreciated.  No reservations are needed.  Adults will be offered the opportunity to see other areas of the house while the children are engaged.

Regular tours will be given at 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm on those days.

Tanner House hours through September 29 are Wednesdays and Sundays with tours at 1, 2 and 3 pm.

The house will be closed through October and November, reopening December 8-29 with open houses on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons, 1-4pm and Friday evenings, 4-7pm.   Closed December 25.

The Tanner House Museum is at 304 Oak Avenue (corner of Oak and Cedar), 60506.
