From the City of Aurora’s Facebook post on August 4, 2021:

MASKS REQUIRED AGAIN INSIDE CITY BUILDINGS

All four of Aurora’s counties have reached the substantial transmission level for Covid-19 positivity rates amid rising concerns of the Delta variant.

In an effort to mitigate the increasing rates and better protect the community, the City of Aurora has reinstated its mask policy, which requires masks or face coverings to be worn inside Aurora City Hall and all City buildings.

This requirement applies to all employees and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, effective Wednesday, August 4.

Health authorities – including the CDC, Illinois Department of Public Health, and county health departments – advise everyone to wear a mask or face covering in public indoor settings in areas with substantial or high transmission levels. The CDC defines substantial transmission as 50 to 99 new cases per 100,000 people in the last seven days. High transmission is reached when 100 new cases are reported over the same period.

Kane, DuPage, Will, and Kendall Counties are all currently at the substantial level.

In addition to wearing masks or face coverings indoors, the City advises everyone to maintain social distance from others while inside.

Aurora City Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Business can also be conducted via phone, email, and the City’s website.
