Luxembourg Ambassador to the United States, Gaston Stronck, takes a picture of an old yearbook from the American Luxembourger Club while visiting the Aurora Historical Society on June 10, 2021. He found his great-grandfather’s brother, John Franzen, in a picture of the club officers. His great grandfather, Nicholas Franzen, lived in Aurora in the 1880s and 90s before returning to Luxembourg to care for his parents after his youngest sister died in childbirth. Dr. Stronck is a career diplomat and lives currently in Washington, D.C. He speaks 5 languages and has served as ambassador to Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, India and the Russian Federation. In the picture with him is Kevin Wester, former head of the Luxembourg American Cultural Society.
